Course Summary

Working alongside 4 great NMI students, we were tasked with creating something to do with NFTs. While the rest of my team had no prior knowledge on NFTs, I had studied a bit about it due to my interest in blockchain technology. The first few days we spent learning the ins and outs of cryptocurrencies and non-fungible-tokens. We saw that there weren't too many existing NFT collections that used their massive revenue streams for charity. For example, people are willing to pay over 300k USD for a Bored Ape. Even if just a fraction of that were donated to a charity, world-wide issues could be closer to getting tackled; which is exactly what we planned to do with our Super Hero themed NFT collection in partnership with UGA HEROs -- a student led philanthropic organization on UGA's campus providing funding and resources for Athens area children affected by HIV/AIDS.
